Holdlens

Privacy at Holdlens

Holdlens is a static site with no accounts and no access to your crypto, keys or seed phrase. What we collect, how Google Analytics, cookies and outbound links work, and why your holdings stay with your tracker, not us.

This page explains what Holdlens does and does not collect. In short: Holdlens is a static website with no accounts, no logins and no way for you to connect a wallet or exchange to us. We never see, hold or ask for your crypto, your API keys or your seed phrase — everything to do with your actual holdings happens in the tracking tools we write about, not here.

What we collect

Very little. Because the site is static and has no user accounts, there is nothing for you to submit and no account profile for us to build. We do use Google Analytics to understand which guides are read — what it records, and how to switch it off, is set out below. Any newsletter signup, if you use one, stores only the email address you give and can be unsubscribed at any time.

Google Analytics

Holdlens uses Google Analytics 4, a service of Google LLC and Google Ireland Ltd., to measure readership: pages viewed, referring site, approximate location (city or country level), device and browser type, and session timing. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We have disabled advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation; the data is not used for advertising and is not sold.

After analytics is allowed — not before — it sets two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_<ID>, lasting up to two years. If you are in Europe (the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, going by your device's time zone), a banner asks you first and nothing is sent to Google unless you click Accept. If you are elsewhere, analytics is on by default and you can switch it off at any time. A Global Privacy Control signal from your browser is respected as an opt-out. We store your choice in your browser's local storage (key: analytics-consent), not in a cookie.

You can change your analytics choice at any time. See Google's privacy policy for how Google handles the data, or use Google's opt-out add-on to block Google Analytics in your browser.

Cookies and third parties

Apart from Google Analytics, described above, we keep third-party code to a minimum. The site sets no advertising cookies. Outbound links pass through our own /go/ redirect and then to the destination, whose own privacy policy governs what happens once you arrive; we do not receive your personal details from those partners. We do not sell data.

Your crypto stays yours

The most important privacy point is about the tools, not this site: when you connect a portfolio tracker, you share your holdings with that tracker, not with us. Choose a tracker whose privacy model you are comfortable with, connect read-only, and never enter a seed phrase anywhere. Our guide to the privacy of portfolio apps covers how to think about that trade-off.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes we will update it here with a new date; this version was last updated on October 9, 2026. Questions about privacy can go to [email protected].
